Tuesday, September 15, 2000 - Book
Promotion - Le Magnifique
I
am extremely busy at the moment both on and off the football
pitch.
On the one hand, I am working hard to boost my fitness, as
I shall be needed more than ever by Aston Villa following
the terrible injury to my team-mate Luc Nilis. I have been
training hard to get match-fit, and hopefully the rewards
will come in matches, especially as my back injury also feels
much better now.
Away from the game, I have been busy launching my autobiography,
Le Magnifique, which is now on sale.
The launch day was packed with interviews and signings, including
The Big Breakfast, TalkSport Radio, BBC Radio, Match of the
Day and several newspaper and magazine pieces.
I am promoting the book both in London and Birmingham, and
shall also be heading further north to do some signing sessions.
It is great to see all the fans who come out to meet me and
have their books signed. It is a real pleasure talking to
them and signing their personal copies.
Another interesting interview I have done is an appearance
on the Michael Parkinson show. He is an interesting man and
a keen football follower. Ben Elton and Andrew Lloyd-Webber
were also guests on the show - they performed a duet at the
end, which was a fitting finale to a fun night. A thoroughly
enjoyable night with Parky. The book signing sessions are
being fitted around my playing schedule, but you can come
and meet me on Tuesday, September 19, at the Aston Villa club
shop, where I shall be autographing copies from 5-6pm.
Thanks for your support and I hope to see you soon!
