Friday, February 23, 2001 - Razor Sharp Right
Now
Salut!
I am feeling razor sharp right now. Training sessions are
really good and I feel that I am in peak condition. I know
that I am ready for action the moment John Gregory calls for
me, and I hope my chance will come soon - I really am raring
to go and desperately want to be in the Villa team.
We face Derby County this weekend, and it will be a tough
game because they are fighting a relegation battle. Plus of
course it is another Midlands derby. It is important for us
to get three points as that will help us move away from the
troubled area and closer to the top half of the Premiership
table.
I had a chance to escape from football this week and went
to the cinema to see the new horror thriller, Hannibal. I
am a massive fan of Anthony Hopkins and he is superb in the
film. If ever I move into an acting career in the future I
would love to be as classy as him - he is my kind of guy!
The country will be focusing on international football after
this weekend, as England face their first match under new
coach Sven Goran Eriksson on Wednesday, a friendly against
Spain. The Swede has named his first squad of 31 players,
and he must select the men who can do a job in England's forthcoming
World Cup qualifiers. But first there is a big weekend of
Premiership action, so cheer us on against Derby for what
promises to be another Villa thrilla!
A bientôt
David Ginola.
