Friday, June 8, Call
me 'Mr Mum'
Salut!
You
can call me 'Mr Mum' this week as I have been looking after
the children. My wife Coraline has taken time off, so I have
been looking after my two children, Andrea and Carla.
On the one hand, it has been fantastic to spend quality time
with my children and to really bond with them. We have been
cooking together, cleaning together, eating together and of
course playing together, so we have had lots of fun. I don't
get to see them as much as I would like during the football
season because we travel quite a lot, so this has helped to
make up for that.
However, the experience has really increased the admiration
I have for all mothers who look after children full-time.
Even though I have two great kids, it is really hard work,
so I take my hat off to all the mums out there who do such
a great job all the time.
Apart from spending time with my children, I have been keeping
myself fit. I am going on holiday next week on my boat in
the Mediterranean so that I can really unwind after the football
season and have a rest. I am also getting ready for the annual
Sainte-Maxime beach soccer event from 22nd until 24th June.
I am sure the summer break will fly past, so I aim to make
the most of it! It is nice to switch off from football now,
although I kept up to date with the international matches
this week. England scored an important victory in Greece and
that puts them right back in with a chance of winning their
World Cup qualifying group, and qualifying automatically.
They can go to Germany in September knowing that victory there
will leave it wide open again.
Sven-Goran Eriksson's dream start continued as he set a record
by becoming the first England manager to win his first five
games in charge. At least the England players can enjoy the
rest of the summer having done the job asked of them.
Enjoy your weekend
A bientôt
David Ginola.
