Friday, July 20, Satisfying
goal in Croatia
Salut!
As
you know, last week I was in Croatia with the rest of the
team to play against Slaven Belupo. I was glad to visit Croatia
so recently after Ivanisevic's wonderful victory at Wimbledon
this year. I watched the final; it was so tense. I was glued
to my seat. So much emotion - a deserved win by a very charismatic
man.
It was scorchingly hot in Croatia, and the grass on the pitch
was amazingly green. I lay on it after the game, which was
small compensation as I was very disappointed not to have
been in the starting line-up. I would have loved to have played
from the start, especially as I feel super fit.
However, I came on toward the end of the game when Slaven
Belupo were leading 1-0, and scored an equaliser with a fantastic
goal. When I say fantastic, I mean it was a very satisfying
one to score. I so much enjoy playing football, and I feel
I have plenty to give. Unfortunately Slaven Belupo managed
to get another goal in before the end.
Tomorrow is the return match, and we have to try and make
up the 2-1 deficit. Come en masse - we'll be needing your
support.
A
bientôt,
David Ginola.
