Massive Weekend
This
is another weekend when we are all diverted from the Premiership
in place of International football, and what a massive weekend
it is!
This is the time for the last qualifying matches to decide
who will progress automatically to next summer's World Cup
finals in Japan and South Korea.
For England, it is fairly straightforward - If they beat Greece
on Saturday at Old Trafford they will clinch Group 9 and qualify
automatically, pipping their arch rivals Germany in the process.
Even though England's Talisman, Michael Owen, is missing through
injury, I can't see England failing to beat the Greeks, and
there is sure to be a huge party this weekend.
The main news on the domestic front is whether or not we will
be asked to go on strike by the PFA. All I can say is that
I hope the PFA gets the television money deal it wants because
it does such good things for worthy causes.
I'm keeping myself fit in the absence of competitive matches,
and I hope to be involved next week when we play against Reading
in the third round of the Worthington Cup.
Villa are putting a nice run together in the League, and it's
great to see Pablo finding his form in front of goal.
A
bientôt,
David Ginola.
