Friday, November 2, Top of the Premiership

Salut!

What a nice feeling it is to be heading back to my former "home" on top of the Premier League this weekend. Yes, Villa go to St James' Park to face Newcastle, my first club in English football, and we are on a crest of a wave.

I have many fond memories of my time at Newcastle, and I made so many Geordie friends whilst living there, so I always enjoy going back. It promises to be a cracking game too, as both teams have been playing well recently and picking up good results.

There is a great buzz around our place at the moment. We have quietly gone about our business and climbed our way to the top of the Premiership, and it is up to the rest of the teams to try and knock us off.

I am delighted for Juan Pablo Angel. After a difficult start to his Villa career he is currently on fire in front of goal, and proving what a great striker he is. Another of our players who is proving he can score goals is Peter Schmeichel! What an amazing character he is, and what an influence he has at both ends of the pitch!

I am ticking along nicely, keeping myself in shape, and will be ready for action when called upon. Let's just hope I get the chance to shine against my former club, on a ground which has so many happy memories for me.

A bientôt,

David Ginola.

Please note that the Carte Noire competition is still open to entrants.
