Happy New Year
Salut!
My apologies for the absence, but I wish you all a great New
Year!
I approach the coming week with some trepidation as my whole
immediate future rests on my disciplinary hearing which takes
place at the FA next Thursday. There have been suggestions
that I may face a six-match ban. That would not only be unfair,
but would also be a crippling blow to me.
This is one of the most frustrating periods in my career.
I am in limbo. I am not getting a look-in with the Villa first
team, and I am facing a hearing which could effectively end
my season.
I know I still have a lot to offer, and I am trying to keep
my spirits up by staying in shape. I played and scored in
Villa reserves' 5-1 demolition of Everton 5-1 at Villa Park
on Wednesday night.
We fielded a strong side, featuring several senior men, and
raced into a 4-0 half-time lead. I opened the scoring with
a 20-yard free-kick, before Thomas Hitzlsperger doubled matters
with a superb 25-yard strike.
Steve Stone made it three, before Moustapha Hadji completed
the first-half scoring. Everton grabbed a consolation after
the break, before Hassan Kachloul scored our fifth two minutes
from time.
Have a good weekend.
A bientôt,
David Ginola.
