Friday, March 1, Leeds
on Sunday
Salut!
We overcame a tricky FA Cup replay at Crewe this week to book
our place in the quarter-finals, and that has given everyone
a high. I was involved in the action during the first half,
but then the boss decided to rest me at the break.
Goals from our strike partners Tomasz Radzinski and Kevin
Campbell secured victory for us after Dean Ashton had given
the home side the lead, and now we can look forward to a quarter
final tie against Middlesbrough.
It keeps alive my dream of an FA Cup winner's medal, but there
is plenty of hard work ahead if we are to achieve that. The
cup is always a nice diversion, but now it is time to focus
on the league again, and that means the visit of Leeds on
Sunday.
David O'Leary's team have not had the best of times lately,
struggling in the Premiership and then crashing out of the
UEFA Cup on Thursday. We must therefore avoid a backlash,
but they have some very talented players and it promises to
be a great game.
We need to win to keep nudging towards mid-table and away
from the relegation zone, but as I said when I first arrived
I think we have too much talent to go down.
Enjoy the weekend!
A bientôt,
David Ginola.
