Monday, April 22, Tottenham Legends

Salut!

Unfortunately I am still not yet fit to play, but I have been working extra hard in the gym and I have shed a few pounds, which has made me feel really fit.

I hope to play again this season, and once the team is mathematically safe from the threat of relegation we can all relax and try to finish the last few weeks with a bit of a flourish.

It was international week this week, and all the managers involved in the World Cup will hopefully have moved a step closer to finalising their 23-man squads for the task ahead in Korea and Japan next month.

It was also the week in which the PFA player of the year was announced, and many congratulations go to Manchester United's Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy. I won that trophy three years ago, so I know what a special feeling it is, and he will no doubt be feeling chuffed. My vote went to fellow Frenchman Robert Pires, who had a fantastic season helping Arsenal get into position to clinch the 'double' before a knee injury brought his campaign to a premature end.

I have been invited to be a guest at dinner for Tottenham legends next month, and I will give you full details next week, but it is a nice honour to be considered among the many greats who have played for the club, and I am looking forward to it.

A bientôt,

David Ginola.
