Cup Expectations
Salut!
What a World Cup it is turning out to be! Who would have imagined
that teams such as France, Argentina and Portugal would have
gone out at the first round. France is in a state of shock,
especially considering that we didn't score a single goal.
It was not what people were expecting. The best thing now
is to be positive about it, and hopefully the French team
will resurface at the next World Cup as a force to be reckoned
with.
I am pleased that England are doing so well. I expected them
to because they are a very good team. I think the victory
against Argentina was great for their confidence. They now
face a massive game against Brazil on Friday, and I am sure
they will do well. I'm looking forward to it, and I think
it will be a fantastic game to watch.
It's also great to see teams like South Korea, Senegal and
USA in the quarter finals. Almost every continent is represented
in the last eight - what you would call a World Cup indeed!
This weekend just gone I played at the Sainte Maxime Beach
Soccer Tournament which was brilliant fun as usual. We had
great weather and it was very well organised, down to the
chauffeur driven sleek Audis. My team lost in the semi-final,
and it was Daniel Bravo's team that won.
A bientôt,
David Ginola.
