Saturday, October 12,
Back to Spurs
Salut!
I am going back to play for Spurs.
No, don't jump off your chairs in wild celebration just yet,
because my appearance at White Hart Lane on Thursday, October
17, shall be a one-off.
Spurs fans among you will know that there is a tribute match
being held to raise money for the Tottenham Trust.
The whole affair is headed up by my former team-mate Jurgen
Klinsmann, and the match will see a Spurs XI take on DC Washington.
I must say the Tottenham midfield for the night sounds quite
mouth-watering, as I shall be lining up alongside Glenn Hoddle,
Paul Gascoigne and Chris Waddle, so let's hope we can give
you all a bit of a show.
I am sure it will be quite an emotional moment for me to pull
on the white shirt again and run out in front of the fans
with whom I had such a special relationship, and no doubt
there will be a special atmosphere there again.
Not much to talk about on the football front as it is international
week again, so good luck to all the teams battling for places
in Euro 2004.
I see the managerial merry-go-round has begun too, as Peter
Reid became the first Premiership casualty of the season at
Sunderland. Let's hope that doesn't trigger too many more
sackings.
Hopefully I'll see lots of you at White Hart Lane on Thursday.
A bientôt,
David Ginola.
