Fantastic Night
Salut!
What a fantastic night at White Hart Lane on Thursday!
Nearly 30,000 fans turned out to support the tribute match
and provide one of the best atmospheres at the ground for
ages.
I was so happy to be part of it, the memories came flooding
back, the most important thing was that it felt like I came
home.
It was a nostalgic occasion for all concerned, and I hope
the fans enjoyed seeing the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Chris
Waddle, Clive Allen, Jurgen Klinsmann and myself all wearing
the white shirt again - what a pity Glenn Hoddle picked up
a hamstring injury and was forced to sit it out.
I must say I've always liked the Tottenham kit but the new
one is really beautiful and in any case it was fantastic to
wear the Tottenham colours again.
I would like to thank everyone for the welcome they gave me,
it made me proud to feel like part of the family again, because
White Hart Lane was always a place where I felt I belonged.
I know the game wasn't a classic, and its a pity we lost 1-0,
but the night was about more than that, it was about bringing
back the memories and raising money for former heroes who
have now fallen on hard times.
I loved being back out on the pitch and although I have not
been in full training I felt pretty good. I must have been
okay because I was voted man-of-the-match, which was another
great accolade.
Hopefully there will be more of these kind of matches.....maybe
soon.
A bientôt,
David Ginola.
