This is the story of
ROSBEEF !
a tale of love, lust and a kilo of sausages
ROSBEEF is a new Anglo French short
that has just finished production, written and directed by Bruce Burgess.
It was shot on 35mm, on location in Southern France, with a French Cast,
and English Crew.
Set in hard times of post war 1950s rural France its the
story of a young butcher, Didier la Flore, played by David Ginola, whos
arrival in the small French village of Ramoulet causes quite a stir.
The new, handsome boucher cuts quite a dash with his open shirt, tanned
chest and white teeth, as he transforms the little butchers shop on
Rue Cloche.
Word soon spread fast about bon rump on display, and the shop was buzzing
with excited female patrons. But the young Boucher was lonely. He needed
a good woman.
And before long he had one. Unfortunately not his own.
The result has a real sting in the tale for all involved
The French Cast includes: ISIS EYMERY,
BERNARD DETOUCHES, VALERIE TREBOR , VINCENT AUDAT, THEO TRIFFARD and
MARC OLLIVAUX.
The Director of Photography is TIM WOOSTER, whose credits
include Cold Mountain, Enigma, Shakespeare in Love, From Hell, The Count
of Monte Cristo, Band of Brothers and most recently, Alexander the Great.
VANESSA STANLEY, CHANTAL STANLEY and PETER LOUWES are
Producing ; CAMILLA ROBINSON is Production Designer ; ELIZABETH
EMANUEL is Costume Designer.
